Experience
We had a wonderful time at Adonia Tea House. Firstly, the ambiance is lovely. It was a rainy day but they created such a warm and cozy feeling, with antique furniture and lamps and the most beautiful live orchids around the room. It felt luxurious, but also warm and inviting. We were immediately impressed. Classic Christmas music was playing and our server was even wearing a Christmas mask. Our afternoon tea at Adonia was a truly welcome reprieve from the stress of Covid life and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Tea
Lily stuck to her usual favourite, the Cream Earl Grey. I tried the Orange with Peels and Blossoms (black tea). We both enjoyed our choices. They served the loose leaf tea in glass teapots with a warming candle underneath and the server came around often to refill the hot water. As I write this, I’m craving that tea again. It was fantastic.
Scones
The scones at Adonia are phenomenal. We tried the Cheese and Chive Scone and the Cranberry Scone. Both were very well executed. We ordered a few extras to take home for the rest of the family and they were given high praise. The baker at Adonia has truly mastered the art of the scone.
Savouries
There was a nice selection of savouries that included the classics, like Egg Salad and Cucumber and Cream Cheese, as well as more unique items such as Puff Pastry with Brie and Cranberry. Each and every savoury was absolutely scrumptious. The classics and the more unique items were all prepared to perfection.
Sweets
The sweets were heavenly. Each one was delectable. My favourite was the Pecan Tart. I honestly have never tasted a better one. Lily’s favourite was the Bread Pudding and she raved about it all day long.
Service
The service was excellent. The server was friendly and welcoming and very attentive. We never had to ask for our water or tea to be replenished because she was always a step ahead.
Overall Thoughts
To say that we enjoyed our afternoon tea at Adonia is an understatement. Everything about it was impeccable. From the decor, to the tea, to the food, to the service, they did not step one foot out of place. This was our first experience at Adonia Tea House and we will most definitely be back. We highly recommend Adonia Tea House and their lovely Noel Afternoon Tea. You deserve a delightful holiday experience this year. You will not be disappointed.
